About the Silk Origin Music Alliance

Introduction

The Silk Origin Music Alliance is a multi-country, multi-industry initiative established in 2016 to develop and expand the music, film/movie, entertainment, digital media and culture industries in China. It markets international artist and companies in China and promotes Chinese artists in international markets.

The Alliance’s immediate goal is to promote and market Alliance member’s artists, creative work, business projects and cultural exchanges between the Chinese and international markets.

Its long-term goals include launching comprehensive cooperative ventures in various fields including the areas of creation, production, performance, promotion, copyright, education, event streaming, business platforms, digital media sales, etc., in the Chinese and international music, cultural and entertainment markets.

Alliance Activities

In 2016 and 2017 the Alliance established and managed the Silk Road Music Festivals in Ningbo and Chendu. The Alliance also established international industry forums in Ningbo and Chengdu to promote and develop markets in China for Alliance members.

During MIDEM 2017 companies from 18 countries located along the One Belt One Road initiative, also known as the “Silk Road” initiative, held a signing ceremony, officially becoming the first international Alliance members. To date companies from 22 countries have joined the Silk Origin Music Alliance.

The Silk Origin Music Alliance will sign bands and artists from member organizations from around the world for future concert events. And it will represent commercial performances overseas and in China. Signed artists will be from diverse styles, covering popular, rock, heavy metal, jazz, folk, etc., to meet the needs of different commercial performances.

Alliance Management

Shanghai Leyi Culture Media Co., Ltd. manages the Silk Origin Music Alliance business organization. It is responsible for securing all licenses to do business in China for Alliance members, and all supporting business and technology infrastructure, event management and all related marketing, promotions and sales for Alliance member artists and companies.

Leyi also manages the National China Music Industry Park, which provides a wide range of business resources and government incentive programs to Alliance members. This includes reduced real estate costs, development rebates and tax reduction incentive programs.

Xian City is promoting a major band competition event for music enthusiasts around the world, to support mutual understanding between Eastern and Western band cultures. The event’ s goal is to find and develop talented musicians, to provide performing artists with a new platform to show their talent and to make new friends!

The competition encourages face-to-face communication with top international professional bands, creating opportunities to show yourself on the world stage. Artists and bands from the Silk Origin International Music Alliance member countries will also be performing.
